Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how COMPROMATH (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://www.compromath.com (the “Site”), including articles, comments, contact forms, and free tools on the Site or COMPROMATH subdomains.
It should be read with our Cookie Policy and Terms and Conditions. Separate products (for example MigraSync) may have their own privacy notices.
1. Who we are
COMPROMATH is a technology blog focused on news, tutorials, and practical guides. The Site is operated by Elliyas Ahmed / COMPROMATH, based in Bangladesh.
Contact for privacy questions:
- Email: contact@compromath.com
- Contact form: https://compromath.com/contact-us/
2. What data we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Comments: name, email address, website URL (optional), and the comment text. We also receive your IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection.
- Contact form: name, email, subject, message, and any other fields you submit (via Contact Form 7 / Flamingo or similar).
- Accounts: if you have a WordPress login (mainly editors/admins), profile details you save in the dashboard.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs (IP address, request time, pages requested, approximate location derived from IP)
- Device and browser information
- Cookie and similar storage preferences (see Cookie Policy)
- Analytics and advertising signals if you opt in
2.3 Bot protection
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on forms such as comments, contact, and login to reduce spam and abuse. Cloudflare may process a challenge token and related technical data under its own privacy terms. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Operate and secure the Site
- Publish and moderate comments
- Respond to messages you send us
- Measure traffic and improve content (if you allow analytics)
- Show ads that help fund the Site (if you allow advertising)
- Meet legal, security, and abuse-prevention needs
We do not sell your personal information as a standalone product list. Advertising partners may process data for ads as described below and in our Cookie Policy when you consent.
4. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use a cookie banner so you can choose Essential only, allow Analytics, allow Advertising, or accept all. Details of cookie types and Consent Mode are in the Cookie Policy.
In short:
- Essential: consent storage, theme preference, WordPress login (for staff), comment convenience cookies if you opt in
- Analytics (optional): Google Analytics via Site Kit by Google
- Advertising (optional): Google AdSense and related Google advertising technologies
Google’s own policies: Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses cookies, and Google Ad Settings.
5. Comments and Gravatar
When you leave a comment, we collect the form fields plus IP address and user agent for spam checks. An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to see if you have a profile image. After approval, your avatar can appear next to your comment. Gravatar’s policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Comments and related metadata are typically kept indefinitely so we can recognize follow-up comments and maintain discussion history, unless you ask us to remove them and we are not required to keep them for legal or security reasons.
6. Media uploads
If images are uploaded to the Site (usually by editors), avoid embedding private location data (EXIF GPS) unless you intend it to be public. Visitors can download images and may extract metadata.
7. Embedded content
Posts may embed content from other sites (videos, posts, widgets). Embedded content behaves as if you visited that third party directly. Those sites may set cookies or collect data under their own policies.
8. Contact form messages
Messages sent through our contact form are used to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation for support and abuse prevention. We do not use contact submissions for unrelated marketing lists without a clear reason and lawful basis.
9. Who we share data with
We share data with service providers who help us run the Site, for example:
- Web hosting and email delivery providers
- Cloudflare (including Turnstile)
- Google (Analytics / AdSense / Site Kit), when you consent to those categories
- Spam and security tools used by WordPress
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the Site, our users, or our rights. If you request a password reset, your IP address may appear in the reset email.
10. How long we keep data
- Comments: generally retained indefinitely unless removed
- Contact messages: retained as long as needed for support and record-keeping, then deleted or archived
- Server logs: kept for a limited operational period, then rotated or deleted according to host practice
- Account profiles: retained while the account exists
- Consent preferences: up to about 365 days (see Cookie Policy)
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You may also request a portable copy of data you provided.
If you have an account or have left comments, you can ask us for an export of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it, except where we must keep information for legal, security, or legitimate administrative reasons.
To exercise these rights, email contact@compromath.com or use the contact page. We may need to verify your request.
You can change analytics and advertising cookie choices anytime via Cookie settings in the Site footer.
12. International transfers
The Site is operated from Bangladesh and may use vendors in other countries (including the United States and the EU). When data moves across borders, those providers process it under their contracts and privacy terms. If you are in the EEA/UK, some transfers rely on the provider’s appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.
13. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the Site (HTTPS, access controls, spam and bot protections). No online service is perfectly secure. Please use unique passwords for any accounts and avoid sending highly sensitive secrets through public forms or tools.
15. Free tools
Browser tools on COMPROMATH or its subdomains may process text or files you submit to produce a result. Avoid entering passwords, private keys, or confidential personal data unless a tool clearly needs them and you accept the risk. Tool-specific behavior may be described on the tool page.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, tools, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish a revision. Please review it periodically.
