Blogger XML Importing Error bX-wpre9q [Solved]
If you’ve encountered the error message “Whoops, that’s an error! (bX-wpre9q)” while attempting to import your exported Blogger or WordPress XML file into Blogger, you’re not alone. This issue, often accompanied by persistent reCAPTCHA verification problems, can be incredibly frustrating to deal with.
In this guide, we’ll explore how to resolve these issues effectively.
When encountering the bX-wpre9q error code, there are two potential solutions. Interestingly, the first solution also addresses the repeated reCAPTCHA verification issue. Let’s begin with that.
Method 1: Clearing Cache & Cookies
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
- Ensure a stable and fast internet connection.
- Retry the import process—it should work!
Pro Tip: A good internet connection is crucial to avoid unnecessary issues.
Note: This method is effective only for smaller XML files (under 20MB).
If your exported XML file exceeds 20MB or Method 1 doesn’t work, or if you continue to face reCAPTCHA issues, don’t worry—Method 2 is a reliable alternative.
Method 2: Splitting Your XML File
For large files, splitting the XML file is the only viable solution. While Google states that “There is no file size limit to import a blog, but the number of imports in a day is limited.” [Reference], importing a massive file with numerous posts, pages, and comments often triggers issues. This could be intentional to encourage regular blogging and avoid potential copyright violations.
Recently, I helped a client, Daniele Orlando Renzetti, resolve this problem. He initially sought help in a Blogger support group but later hired me to find a solution.
Daniele’s XML file was over 100MB, containing countless posts, pages, and comments. Despite my initial research and testing various online tools to split the file, Blogger refused to accept the split files. After hours of experimentation (and even a quick trip to the restroom 🚽), inspiration struck, and I finally devised a solution using shell scripting.
Ultimately, I resolved Daniele’s issue, and he was thrilled with the results. Here’s his feedback on Fiverr:
Note: While Method 2 works, it may result in some issues with publishing comments. These can be resolved manually but may take time.
